Is it Ooo-ber or You-ber?

Either works for me! Traditionally, the family-Uber has gone by “you-ber”, but I’ll gladly answer to both. What does it mean? It is actually a German prefix tacked on the to the front of a word to indicate something “above and beyond all others”. Not bad! “Uber” has rapidly been joining the American lexicon in the last few years, being used as a superlative attached to brilliant toddlers (uber-kids); the very best brew (uber-caffe); or even a dream vacation (the uber-tour of Bavarian castles). Me? I manage to describe something as uber-____________ in every speech. Call it my signature!
